Aaaah! Weddings!

So my neighbor’s youngest daughter is getting married, and I was informed that I have the dubious honor of cutting and serving the Groom’s cake at the reception.

This meant that I had to get a dress. I don’t like dresses, generally. My mother found several, one resembling a 20s Flapper dress, and a skirt/blouse set that is of the bohemian style of dress I generally prefer. Still, I can never feel entirely comfortable in a dress or skirt.

I got a haircut, though the girl straightened my hair to death, and my hair did not seem to like such treatment. Naturally, by the morning of the wedding, it was back to its frizzy self, trying its best to curl. I spent hours with the curling iron trying to coax some sort of style into it before giving up.

The wedding was remarkably simple. I suppose after the girl has been engaged three times (to three different men), they were just glad that she went through with the thing. Only one person asked me if I would be getting married soon; I suppose most others have learned their lesson by now and decided to stop asking.

Overall, it wasn’t as horrible as I expected it to be. The Groom’s Cake was chocolate…so my post had it’s perks. The crumbs and bits that fell off were all mine….hehe.
